(c) Describing each feature that they have ticked to justify their
choices and providing a logical explanation for each feature
they did not tick. This activity may be performed through plenary
discussion.

(d) Visiting any e-library or search engine and downloading a
research proposal, an abstract, and an academic article from any
journal. Then, instruct them to study the downloaded samples and
provide a description for each based on the provided aspects in
the Student’s Book.
(e) Using online sources to read and write short notes on the given
types of academic essays. You may instruct each student to do the
activity individually
(f) Identifying different techniques used in the samples they have
downloaded and explaining the techniques they can adopt in writ-
ing their academic essays. Instruct each student to write a report
on his or her observations and present it to the class. Guide each
student to take note of the proposed improvement and discuss how
to improve their report.
(g) Writing an analytical essay on academic writing on a given topic
or title. Organise students in groups, either let them suggest a
topic or title, or provide them with a list of topics or titles to
choose from.
Activity 7.4 Writing contracts
Use the activities in the Student’s Book to guide the students through:
(a) Reflecting on the provided questions in the Student’s Book.
(b) Studying carefully the provided template of the Lease Agreement
and noting down the style, format and content. Then, ask them
to compile a short report focusing on the given aspects and
share it with the class for discussion to improve the final draft.
