Note: Most essays that these students wrote at ordinary level
include narrative essays, expository essays, descriptive
essays and argumentative essays.
(b) Select a moderator in each group to ensure everyone
participates in the discussion.
(c) Ask each group to present the work to the class for further
discussion.
(d) Ask each student to write his/her strengths and weaknesses in
essay writing and present the work to the class.
(e) Lead a plenary discussion on the weaknesses presented by
the students and how to help them address the weaknesses.
Activity 2�4 in the Student’s Book
(a) Ask each student to write an essay on one of the topics provided
in the Student’s Book.
(b) Let the students in pairs exchange their essays and read them
silently.
(c) Ask each pair to discuss the quality of their essays, focusing
on various aspects, including the language used, cohesion and
coherence, and provided examples.
(d) Guide each pair through presenting their essays by reading
them aloud. Check the quality of the essays.
(e) Lead a plenary discussion on the essays presented by the
students and correct their mistakes.
