Introduction
It is very important to develop student’s ability to articulate thoughts
correctly and convey ideas persuasively. In doing so students will
master the art of oral presentation. In this chapter you will guide
students to learn skills for effectively participation in debates,
dialogues, formal and informal meetings and narrate events/stories.

2. Samples of speeches
3. Oral sources showing people conducting debates and delivering
speeches
4. Computers, smartphones/tablets, projectors, reliable Internet, TV,
special Apps
Oral presentation
Teaching procedures
1. Organise students into groups and ask them to discuss the concept
of oral presentation.
2. Guide each group through presenting their views to the class for
further discussion.
3. Ask students individually to read silently the information about
oral presentation as presented in the Student’s Book. Then, guide
them in a discussion through the following hints:
(a) What each of the 5Cs of a powerful presentation mean.
(b) What do they know about debate, dialogue, meeting, lecture,
symposium, workshop, round table or group discussion.
4. Allow questions from the students and use all available and authentic
materials to enrich the discussion about oral presentation.
